Coming Soon! Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark
"Countless adventures... One resort."
In June of this year (the weekend before school was out for the summer) we were invited to visit Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark. We had a great weekend on the mountain... and were really interested to hear about the recent groundbreaking and plans for the new Camelback Lodge and Indoor Waterpark.
A few weeks ago (the week before Halloween) I was invited back to Camelback Lodge and Indoor Waterpark. Now... while the facility is far from complete... we were invited for a Hard Hat Tour and lunch on site (provided by the Lodge's culinary team). I've never been on a "hard hat tour" and love getting these behind the scenes (or before the scenes) opportunities.
Camelback Resort owners, together with development and management company Stand Rock Hospitality, rolled out the red carpet and handed out hard hats before guiding tours through the 533,000 square-foot, $163 million Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark. The Hard Hat Tour unveiled a unique design, expansive amenities, and showcased the cuisine and hospitality that guests will be able to experience in March when the new Camelback Lodge celebrates its grand opening.
The on-site hard hat tour was really interesting. It was cool to see everything under construction. As we listened to everyone speak before our tours, you could hear the excitement of everyone we heard speak. We learned so much information. We heard so many numbers. We got so many stats. All I can really tell you is that there is going to be SO much to do for family members of every age. The entire day just left me really hopeful that we'll be invited back again to see the finished product. It promises to be absolutely amazing.
Once complete, the eight-story Camelback Lodge will feature 453 guest suites offered in 24 suite configurations ranging from loft fireplace suites, one and two bedroom executive suites, and family suites with bunk beds, gift shops, adult and kids spas, multiple eateries and three sit-down restaurants, including the ski-in/ski-out Trails End Tavern near the Sullivan Chair Lift. The Lodge will also appeal to business travelers, event and wedding planners with more than 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space with an incredible panorama of Camelback Mountain.
The 170,000 square-foot family adventure center will include the much anticipated Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark, which will feature seven pools, 13 waterslides, and a multitude of thrilling water attractions. Uniquely designed to be unlike any other indoor waterpark in the USA, Aquatopia will host a combination of waterpark guest favorites such as a massive wave pool, lazy river and flowrider surfing simulator, as well as never before seen attractions and slides, among them Storm Chaser, the most innovative gravity-defying watercoaster to exist in any indoor waterpark in the U.S., and the world-premiere of the Venus SlydeTrap, a family raft ride that combines three exhilarating waterslides experiences into one slide. Aquatopia will be situated under a texlon transparent roofing system which will allow guests to sun tan indoors at a comfortable 84-degrees, year-round. On the drier side, Arcadia Family Adventure Center will offer two levels of themed activities and challenges including more than 100 video, interactive and ticket redemption games, ropes courses and rock climbing for adults and kids, mini-golf, black light laser tag, bowling and an arts and crafts center.
