A Kid Free Day at Jenkinson's
I'm just sitting here thinking of our last trip to Jenkinson's. It was a month ago yesterday that we waved to the kids as they got on the bus for the first Friday of school (can you believe the kids have been in school for a whole month???)... and then we hopped in the car with our beach chairs and umbrella and headed down the shore. Nick and I sat on the quiet, calm beach totally kid-free. We didn't take advantage of any of the other fun boardwalk features (mini golf, rides, aquarium....). We were too busy doing nothing. I'm sure you can understand how amazing it was to just sit in my chair, enjoy the sun and the sound of the surf, and read my book without once having sand kick up, without anyone making me dig in the sand, without anyone whining. Nick and I vowed to spend more of his Friday off days sneaking away for relaxing kid-free days.
Zoe & Ana still don't know we went without them. Shh...

Tomorrow (10/5) you can Pirate Plunder – Arrrgh! at the Aquarium. (1:30-3 pm). Ages 4-8. Register at 732-899-1659. $15/person.
