Day at Sea - Cruise Day 7
Saturday 3/1/08
Our final cruise day was a day at sea. It was almost identical to the day before (with just a few more pictures). We slept late, went to breakfast and then took Zoe to camp. The morning theme was "Fun Ship Freddy". She was given a growth chart, a matching game, and a small back pack to bring home with her. I believe Freddy is kind of creepy. What do you think?
Fun Ship Zoe is kind of cute though, even with pink eye.
We picked her up from camp at lunch time and she was perfectly happy wearing this silly hat right through lunch.
After lunch we went swimming and then took our snooze. We woke up and got ready for our last cruise dinner. We enjoyed ourselves and then said good-bye to Ika, our server. (Zoe was happier than she looks.)
From dinner we went on to our normal evening routine... camp for Zoe and casino for us. Unfortunately there was only one show this last night and it wasn't scheduled until 10:30. That just gave us more time to lose more money in the casino. Slot machines are bad bad things.
We did our last camp pick up at 10pm. We turned in our fancy ship cell phone and said good-bye to all of Zoe's new friends. When we were picking up it was story time for the 2-5 and 6-8 year olds so we took the opportunity to get a quick group shot.
I especially liked this camp counselor. I believe her name was Jill. No matter where we saw her on the ship or off, from the very first time we met her (when she gave Zoe her "muster station id bracelet" at the day 1 emergency drill practice) she always greeted Zoe by name and asked if she was having a good time and if they'd see her later at camp. She was just so friendly and great with the kids.
Good-bye Fun Ship Freddy and our camp friends! We'll miss you! (Well... the camp friends. I may still have nightmares about Freddy.)
After picking up Zoe I did insist we all go down to the show hall for the "pre-show" BINGO/raffle. I didn't want to play BINGO, but at 10:20 they were pulling those raffle tickets... the ones we got from buying scratch tickets. I just had to hear the numbers called or I'd forever wonder if we missed out. If your number was called you had to be present to win. Well, it's a really good thing I insisted... because one of our two tickets was the winner. We came home with a very pretty sapphire and (single tin) diamond pendent necklace given by Diamonds International. Quite a nice way to end the trip.
