Fly Away

Tomorrow we're off to visit my family.

Orlando here we come!

I'm looking forward to the weather. It's suppose to be in the high 70s. Here in NJ it's been in the 30s (sometimes lower) and quite gray. Today it was even a little icy out.

The idea of warm weather did require a bit of shopping for Zoe. Last summer clothes are mostly too small... so I was happy to find that Land's End online clearance section had quite a lot to offer. Zoe is all set with enough outfits to make it through a warm Florida week. I love Land's End children's clothes... they are just so cheerfully colored. I'm sure you'll get to see lots of pictures of her new wardrobe very soon!!! Now I'm just left wondering what clothes I might have to fit over my pregnant pot belly. Guess I'll find out while I'm packing since I wasn't really thinking of my possible need for weather appropriate clothes as much as I was for Zoe.

Zoe is clueless about the need for shorts and sandals... but she is excited about going on the plane and swimming in the pool. She also gets excited when we ask who she's going to see. She goes through a whole list... and I'm amazed that she remembers everyone who she's going to see. PopPop, Grammy, Avery, Jim, Erica, Nanny, Pop George. And now we add "and Baby Grace!". We can't wait to meet Grace. She's already a month old. A whole month!!!

We plan on getting to Disney World.... the Magic Kingdom this time! It should be really fun since Zoe is quite fond of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (she doesn't just say Mickey Mouse... it has to be "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse"). Hopefully we'll get to meet Mickey and Zoe won't get too freaked out by the huge mouse.

I also have plans to get together with my friend Amanda. We were college roommates and we were bridesmaids in each others weddings. She has a son who is just about 2 months younger than Zoe. And, like me, Amanda is also pregnant again. This time she is due a couple months before me. We haven't seen each other since my wedding (January 2002) and her family happens to be going to Orlando next week too. We're hoping to meet up somewhere at least to have lunch and do a little catching up. I can't believe it's been 6 years since we last saw each other. That just seems crazy.

So, we're going to Florida. We're visiting family. We're meeting Grace. We're seeing Mickey Mouse. We're meeting up with an old friend. It should be a fun and busy week. When I get back I'll have lots of fun stories to share.
